APOAPSIS
for Tuba and Fixed Media

Sign up with the Google form below the description!

Apoapsis is defined as the point at which an orbiting object is farthest away from the body it is orbiting. APOAPSIS is a new out-of-this-world consortium for tuba and fixed media led by Dr. Patrick Yeh. APOAPSIS will be a 7-8 minute intermediate/early-advanced work inspired by the visuals and immersiveness of the video game Star Citizen and by the isolation, loneliness, and serenity one would feel exploring a fictional galaxy alone. APOAPSIS will also include a high-energy space battle section.
-

APOAPSIS will be through-composed and will have seamless and smooth transitions between different "chapters" of the piece to emulate the seamless gameplay and lack of loading screens in Star Citizen. Each chapter of APOAPSIS is subtitled to convey the previously mentioned emotions and scenarios:
-
Chapter 1. To think among the stars
Chapter 2. Fight for survival
Chapter 3. The Jump
Chapter 4. Destination Reached

-
The cost to join the APOAPSIS consortium is $110 for professionals, non-students, and studios and $75 for students. The backing track will be accessible by following a QR code link on the inside cover of the sheet music.
-
Members of the consortium will get the following perks:
1. Their name printed on the score.
2. Receive consortium updates during the composing process of APOAPSIS.
3. Receive an emailed PDF copy of the score and parts in September of 2025, and a mailed, professionally printed and bound, signed copy of APOAPSIS soon after the PDF music is sent out.
4. Get a 6-month performance and recording exclusivity period (until April of 2026).
